Recently, I googled "Irish website" and was disappointed to find pages with listings of St. Patrick's Day parades and plane tickets to the Emerald Isle. A few sites offered pieces of Irish history, but I felt disappointed to discover little information on the modern Irish American identity.
So I started this blog today (which is appropriately St. Patrick's Day) to explore the complex Irish identity and what it means to be Irish today. I'm planning to have a "Pub of the Month" feature, interview Irish musicians and community members, and provide commentary on the latest happenings on Dear Ol' Erin's Island.
